Stephen A. Weinstein attended the University of Southern California and received his B.S. from the University of Colorado in 1964. Mr. Weinstein went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Denver, College of Law in 1967 and his L.L.M. from New York University in 1968.

Mr. Weinstein has developed expertise in the area of employee fringe benefits with special emphasis in Retirement Benefit, Health and Welfare, Insurance and Employee Stock Ownership Plans. He advises sponsors and fiduciaries on the full range of legal matters which affect employee benefit plans, including establishment and qualification of the plans under the requirements of the Internal Revenue Code, ERISA, and the Taft-Hartley Act; termination and withdrawal liability with the PBGC, review and negotiation of contracts with consultants and investment managers; and litigation against the plan and its fiduciaries under ERISA.

Mr. Weinstein’s expertise also encompasses corporate law with emphasis on selection of the form of business entity, mergers, acquisitions, sales of businesses, real estate and developing strategies to minimize taxes. Additionally, he counsels clients in tax-exempt corporate structures including foundations, 501(c)(3) organizations and self -funded insurance programs.

Mr Weinstein is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Denver Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
